Susanna is sick with her very first cold. She is MISERABLE which is making both Miguel and I miserable. It is heartbreaking watching her and not being able to explain to her what is going on or do more to help her. She went from sleeping through the night to waking up every 2-3 hours screaming and so sad bc the poor girl cant breathe. She is extremely congested, runny nose, sneezing, and a cough which I am sure is due to all the drainage. This all started on Monday night so we are a few days in already. Please oh please keep us in your thoughts as we try and survive this. If anyone has any suggestions on how we can make our beautiful angel more comfortable let us know... we are first timers here and completely clueless!!
I will do a longer entry with pics once I have had more than 3 hours of sleep, right now I am too tired :(

I think that you need to feed her a healthy appetite of beer. With enough beer, you get very sleepy and can sleep through anything!!!

Well, since they no longer have cold medicine for babies, here's some tricks we use.
Raise one end of her crib. We put our phone books under the mattress. This will help her nose drainage.
Cool mist humidifier. I can't say enough about this. Keep it running all day in her room.
We also use vapor plug ins. Ours is a nightlight but it's VERY bright, so be warned. It is like vicks vapor rub smell and fills the whole room.
High fever, barking cough, lethargy = call the doctor. Otherwise, lots of TLC and she'll probably get through it in 7-10 days. Send me an email if I can offer any more advice or a shoulder to cry on: am_isaac@yahoo.com
