July 4th Beach Trip

We traveled to Sunset Beach to celebrate Susanna's first July 4th. Not only was this her first beach trip but it was also our first family trip. We had a wonderful time!!
Luckily Miguels parents (who have decided to be called Granddad and GiGi) have a beautiful house at Sunset Beach so hopefully we will be making many more trips to the beach.

Susanna enjoyed the ocean and liked putting her little toes in the sand. She even took a nap on the sand in her pop-up beach tent.

Miguel was soo very proud to see her sleeping in a tent! If it was up to him camping would be our next trip!!

We were caught off guard once by a BIG wave and little Susie got scared. I can't help but laugh when she starts to scream her head off!!

Overall she really did like the water and would squish her little toes in the sand as the tide went out. Miguel is looking forward to the days when he can bring her out in the waves to play with him, he really loves to spend all his time in the ocean!

I was in charge of packing which of course meant I just brought along EVERYTHING I could think we MIGHT need.

Poor Miguel had to pack it all up and make it fit in the car and he did a great job, THANKS DADDY!! Susanna did great being away from home and slept wonderfully in her pack'n'play. We didn't have to worry about an alarm clock because Susanna would wake us up as soon as she was ready! After she got breakfast her, daddy, and Sissy would spend some time playing, so cute :)

We took a day-trip to Calabash and enjoyed some super yummy seafood! We also walked around Callahan's store and daddy found the cutest pair of sunglasses for Susanna. She is soo stylish. She was wearing them at the beach the next day and we couldn't even tell that she had fallen asleep, what a GREAT disguise!

You are sooo lucky to be so close to the beach! Susanna seems to have mastered her status as world traveler--the suitcase picture is hilarious! Jada will be glad to see she's still finding her fist and fingers. The tent made a nice sleeping place for her. Miguel, remember--if you go camping you may need to pack MORE that you did for the beach. You may need a bigger suitcase!
