Just Another Week

Everything with the Gonzalez three is great! No doctors appointments or anything extra exciting happening this week. My next appointment will be at 32 weeks and should be pretty uneventful. I have been feeling a lot of rolling movements and hope the baby is turning heads down. Only time will tell!!!

Miguel has been very very busy interviewing for a job after graduation. He has some great opportunities and hopefully soon we will know what his final options are. So many things will be changing and we have a lot of exciting decisions ahead of us!!! But before we can get to that point Miguel HAS TO FIND PATIENTS FOR HIS LICENSING BOARD IN FEBRUARY!! If he doesn't get the right patients, he can not get his practicing license, and then can not get a job. KINDA STRESSFUL HUH?!?!? So if anyone out there has not been to the dentist in a while or knows of anyone who needs dental work Miguel would be happy to screen them as a potential patient. Free dental work for you means even more to us!!!

Wanna See Our Baby?!?!?

We had our 3D/4D Ultrasound this afternoon. IT WAS AMAZING!! We got to see baby's face and reconfirm that it is indeed a girl. Baby is in what they call Frank Breech position, which means that the bottom is down and both arms and legs are extended upward to the head near the ears. No wonder I feel sooo much movement and kicking near my upper belly and ribs... I've got arms, elbows, knees, legs, and feet all in the same area!!! The tech was not able to get a full front face view due to all the extras (hands, legs, etc) in the same area but we still got some VERY CUTE pics.

3rd Trimester

It is hard to believe I am in the 3rd trimester already. Where did all the time go? I am now 28 weeks and have only 12 more weeks until baby arrives. Time is going to fly and I sure hope we have everything ready. Miguel is going to be SUPER busy with finishing up school and all the extras that go along with that (passing the patient boards, final exams, finishing requirements) as well as interviewing for a job at the same time. Speaking of that, does anyone know of a dental office looking to hire an associate in the Raleigh/Durham area? If so, we got a GREAT candidate for ya :)!!! With so much happening right now I have a feeling it will be March before we know and baby will be right around the corner.

Today I had my 28 week drs appt as well as my test for gestational diabetes. The orange drink wasn't too nasty and I chugged it down super fast to get it over with. Now I just have to wait for a phone call whether I pass or fail. Hopefully I will be just fine!! Baby is measuring right along schedule and everything is going well. I asked the dr when we might have another ultrasound bc Miguel wanted to make sure he came along for that appt. but she said unless there is a problem with baby measuring too little we wouldn't be having another. SOOOO DISAPPOINTING!!! We can however elect to have the 3D Ultrasound (which of course cost more $$$$) and if we decide to do this we have to schedule it NOW in order to get a good image. I am debating on this but have to make a quick decision. Should we pay for another REALLY cool peak at baby or just be happy for the glimpses we already got and await the arrival to see what baby looks like??? This is a hard one!!!

2008 Already?

Happy New Year! It is hard to believe 2008 is already here. 2007 was such a horrible year but I still have mixed emotions saying goodbye. I am having a hard time leaving the year that my mom died... it makes me feel further away from her and really sad. But I know my family has many exciting things to look forward to in 2008 and my mom will be with us always in every step. So I am working on changing my attitude towards 2008 but know it will take some time to come to terms with it all.

Our holiday vacation has come and gone but I want to share with you our fun adventure to Ohio. Miguel, Dad, and I drove to Ohio and it took us about 9 hours. Both boys were VERY NICE about letting me stop every 2 hours for a potty break and to walk around. It wasn't too horrible but I was exhausted at the end none the less. It is amazing how tired you can be from just sitting in the car all day!! While we were in Ohio we got to visit with both the Hoying and Hoelscher side of the family. My Grandpa Hoying surprised me with a Hobby Horse he handmade for baby. It is WONDERFUL!! It is better than anything you could ever find in a store and means much more because it is made with love by him. We are excited to take pictures of baby for the first ride on the horse. Maybe I should let Sissy test is out first?!?!?

My Aunt Jane and cousin Mindy threw a baby shower for Miguel and I. This was our first and VERY EXCITING!! They worked soo hard preparing fun games, prizes, decorations, food, and so much more. It was the perfect first shower! The only thing missing was my mom sitting there on the floor snapping a million pictures, oohing and ahhing over every baby outfit. But my dad tried to take her place and took a bunch himself and he did a good job. I REALLY appreciate everything Mindy and Jane did for Miguel and I. It was very special!! We got many cute baby blankets, outfits, and lots of pink!! Apparently dad blabbed to everyone that the ultrasound tech told us that baby is a girl!!!! We were trying to keep things more neutral but I cant blame anyone from buying those pink outfits... they are irresistible!!! I am really happy with everything we got and thank everyone soo much.

We made it back from Ohio on Sunday and Miguel and I spent the next few days just relaxing at the house. New Years Eve was extra mellow this year but I did manage to stay awake until midnight with Miguel. He really enjoyed me being up late with him bc for a long time now bedtime for me has been so early and he has been left alone downstairs. It was a treat to be up late together!!
