Miguel passed his written Dental Boards!!!! We got the results in the mail yesterday and are SO THRILLED. He is relieved he doesn't have to retake them and I am just so happy another thing is checked off the list. Yesterday I was the first one home so I checked the mail and put it on the sofa table as part of our normal routine. I quickly looked through to see what we got and noticed the envelope from the Dental Boards. I immediately knew what it was and got very nervous. I said a couple quick prayers and put it back in the pile. Miguel got home a few minutes later and I didn't mention the envelope to him because I wanted him to find it on his own. He took the pile and brought it into the kitchen to sort. I watched him but didn't want to look too eager so I tried to look like I wasn't paying attention. Well he sorted all the mail, threw away the junk, and then asked about dinner. HE DIDN'T SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE ENVELOPE AND I KNEW IT WAS THERE!!!!!!! I went upstairs to change out of my work clothes when he came running up screaming I PASSED, I PASSED. He handed me the paper and I looked at the scores and sure enough he did pass, both sections. I told him how happy I was and he was ecstatic! I said, "I knew that envelope was there and was wondering why you didn't say something earlier" and he said he got so nervous when he saw it he wanted to open it in private just in case and if he didn't pass maybe would of waited a few days before he told me. I told him I would of been sooooooo mad if he didn't say anything but I am glad he did pass and that we could both be happy. The next step is for him to pass the patient based boards in February. So if anyone has any dental work that needs to be done please think of Miguel and come to be screened at the dental school and maybe you will be the lucky one to get your dental work done for free!!
In other news, I have been sick with a horrible head cold. It started on Saturday when I woke up with a sore throat but then REALLY hit me on Sunday. I was in bed all day Sunday because I just felt soo miserable. I made it to work on Monday and am back today and hope to be feeling better soon. Unfortunately there are not many medications I am able to take so I have to tough it out. If anyone has suggestions I would LOVE to know how to feel better faster!!

Yahoooo! I had no doubts--way to go Miguel! We're so happy for your success! Louie would volunteer for a little dental work, but I think we're a tad bit far away! I'm sure you're both smiling all day long!
Jessica, I am suffering from sinus right now, too, and for you can only suggest Saline nasal spray and Unker Cream. I know you'll say EWWWWW! but Grandma, Louie, and I all go back to those old fashioned remedies.
Take care, stay home if needed, and see you soon!
Love,
Aunt Jane

Congratulations Miguel!!! I had no doubt that you'd pass it. Now go out and get yourself a good bottle of bourbon to celebrate! (keep in mind that there is no such thing as bad bottle of bourbon)
Congrats again,
Jack & Brenda
Thanks gang! I'm really stoked to have it behind me now. I really appreciate the support. Jack, I had Maker's just a few minutes after opening the envelope!
