Half Baked!

Today is the offical half way point, 140 days down and 140 more to go. It is hard to believe we have already arrived at this milestone. SOO EXCITING! I guess this means I am 5 months pregnant, WOW. Only 4 more to go!!! Miguel and I have SO much happening in the upcoming months... Miguel takes Dental Boards Part II, Register for Baby, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Start setting up nursery, Baby Showers, My birthday, Miguel takes Patient Based Dental Boards, Miguel interviews and hopefully finds a job, Baby arrives, Miguels graduation! So many exciting and wonderful things all in the next 6 months, crazy!

Within the last 2 weeks my belly has finally popped. I really do look pregnant and not just an in-between fat stage. YEAH!

Miguel is BUSY BUSY BUSY studying for his written Dental Boards (which he takes this Thursday and Friday) so we plan to hold off our 20 weeks celebration until this weekend when we will finally start our baby registry. I think we plan to register at Babies R Us and Target. It is going to be exciting yet VERY overwhelming. I am stressed about choosing the right brands, the right stroller, the right bedding, the right everything. There are just so many options but I want to get the perfect one for baby. If anyone has suggestions about good products/brands or ones to stay away from PLEASE let me know. Also if you have a favorite MUST HAVE for first time moms let me know that too bc I am very open to others experiences. Afterall, other moms have the best advice to give!!

In my experience with kids at school, as a camp counselor, and my work at the orphanage. Many household items can be used to entertain baby:

-Prescription pill bottles = rattle
-Whisky soaked rags = great 4 teething
-Insert wine stopper to suppress crying
-Insert wine stopper to suppress pooping
-No need for diapers - just keep 'em naked and hose them off as needed
-Baby monitors r for suckers = crying builds character

I could go on...but time to study

What great ideas Miguel has! I THOUGHT he was studying, but now am beginning to wonder where all the wine corks are coming from! Good luck on your exams, Miguel! We know you'll do just fine, probably just GREAT!You can practive with the whiskey soaked rags after the tests, Or maybe just become a bottle baby, too! Have a fun time registering-- you will be exhausted when you finish.
Good Luck

My suggestion is to register for whatever you like the best, and since the baby is most likely a girl..... whatever is the prettiest!!!! Then bring the registry home with you and read the online reviews about the bigger products you picked. You can always change the registry if you picked something that got bad reviews. Have fun and Good Luck!!!!!!

We found that a quality Bourbon is the best choice for "whiskey soaked rags". Our kids appreciated the smooth qualities of Jim Beam Black label both for teething and for calming them with a shot or two in their bottles. The worst part is breaking them of their bottle habit when it's time to go to kindergarten.
