35 weeks

I had another doctors appointment this morning. Nothing much to report... just an uneventful routine visit. Baby and I are both doing well and everything is on track. I have been feeling extra tired lately, a little crampy, and easily emotional but was told that all is normal and expected during this time of pregnancy. I asked the Dr about the position of the baby but he said they would not check that until the next visit. If at that time baby is still breech we will then discuss more options. I now have to be seen every week and my next visit is on Thursday. It is amazing how fast time has flown by and I am already having weekly appointments. Before we know it baby will be here!!! Until then we will just go week by week :)

Very Important Week :)

This week is a very important week for us... Miguel has his CITA license boards on Friday and Saturday!!!! Friday will be the patient based exam day where he has to perform certain required procedures on patients and have them reviewed by the examiners to determine pass or fail. It will be an overwhelming, chaotic, stressful day and we ask for prayers for calming and confidence in the past 4 years of knowledge so that he can make it through the day. Saturday will be procedures performed on manikins which then have to be reviewed by the examiners for pass/fail. Every little detail is going to be scrutinized and there are very particular ways for everything from filling out the paperwork up to the very last step required. Of course there are a lot of nervous emotions in our house right now but I am trying to stay relaxed for Miguel's sake. Please keep us, especially him, in your prayers this week. I have been saying many extra prayers to help him through these upcoming tough 2 days. I believe in him and the skills he has obtained during his schooling and pray we have GREAT NEWS soon!!!

Baby Shower Fun!!!

This past Saturday (2/9/07) was the baby shower hosted by my dad, Joey, and Patrica. It was such a WONDERFUL fun time!! Miguel and I enjoyed every moment of it and are so grateful for all who came out to help us celebrate our special baby. We are so blessed to have so many wonderful friends who care and love us and baby Susanna already. We received many wonderful gifts for baby and have unpacked all the bags and are working hard to get the nursery set up. We want to thank everyone for their extreme generosity and kindness, WE LOVE YOU ALL!!

For those who were not able to be there I will fill you in on all the festivities. My dad of course prepared enough food and drinks for a thousand people, but that is just the Hoying way of throwing a party and I love it!!

Patricia brought a BEAUTIFUL baby themed cake which tasted delicious too.


My mom's friends worked soo hard on the decorations, games, and everything to make the party run smoothly. We could not of done it without all of them! The house looked beautiful and oh so PINK!!! I know my mom was smiling down on all of us and that she is the angel watching over baby Susanna.




The first surprise gift Miguel and I received was having my Aunt Jane and Uncle Louie drive down from Ohio to be with us at the party. My dad and Joey had planned this surprise visit and almost were sneaky enough to get away with it. I am a REALLY great detective and was able to put together some clues and by Friday morning had figured it all out. I am just so happy to have them here and to be able to share this wonderful weekend with them :)


I have included some pictures from Saturday. We did end up playing all of my favorite baby games... Dirty Diaper candy bar game, Baby Food Fear Factor, and guess the size of the preggo belly. IT WAS SOO MUCH FUN!!



We were going to use Joey to play the "Guess how big the Uncle-to-Be's belly is" game but at the last minute decided to use my baby bump instead. I want to thank everyone who joined in and played along, I hope everyone had as much fun as Miguel and I did.

Its been a while...

Well I am now 32 weeks. We have been busy but nothing super exciting going on so I have not had much to write on the blog. I had a regular prenatal drs appt this morning and everything was fine. They said that at my next visit in 3 weeks they might do an ultrasound to check the position of baby since she was breech at 29 weeks. They said if she is still breech at that time (I will be 35 weeks then) we will need to discuss options because the chances of her flipping heads down decrease after that point. I definitely have been feeling a lot of rolling movements and both Miguel and I agree that my belly has changed shape too. Even my belly button looks different recently. Before it was starting to REALLY stretch out but now it has gotten a little deeper again and more like normal. I am going to guess she has flipped but I really have no idea! We will have to wait and see what happens!!!

Yesterday was a wonderful day :) My best friend Vicki and I had a joint baby shower. We are only 12 days apart in our pregnancies and it has been wonderful sharing everything with each other. And we got to share yesterday as well which was so much fun. Miguel and Richard joined us as well and it was so nice to have the daddies at the shower! We both got so many cute things and I will be busy putting everything away this week.

This upcoming Saturday (2/9) is the long awaited day of my dad and Joey's baby shower for Miguel and I. We are really looking forward to seeing so many of our family friends. I am kinda hoping we get to play all those silly baby shower games too. My favorites are the "Guess the candy bar in the diaper" game and the "Guess the baby food flavor" game!! We are both really looking forward to this weekend!!!
