First Baby Gift...

Yesterday I got my VERY FIRST BABY PRESENT!! It was from my wonderful best friend Vicki and she got me a baby scrapbook to put the ultrasound picture and any other special keepsakes along the way. I am not very crafty and have never scrapbooked before but I am looking forward to making this something cute we can cherish forever. Miguel is more artistic than I am so I am hoping he will help!

Miguel comes home for good on Thursday night. HIP HIP HOORAY!! Finally this horrible summer of rotations is over. He will have to make up some time missed during winter break but at least it will be in the area so he will not be leaving again. We have had such a tough time being apart and with all that life has thrown at us. We are really looking forward to things returning to normal, or as normal as possible.

I went to bed at 9 last night but am still very tired today. Got to make it through this work day before I can get back in bed. I might try to sneak in a nap at lunch!! I am really looking forward to this upcoming long weekend to do nothing and sleep/rest at home. Haveing no plans is a WONDERFUL THING!!

Can You Believe It???

Miguel and I wanted to share our happy news with everyone, WE ARE PREGNANT!!! It has been really hard to keep the secret the past 3 weeks and are soo happy we can't wait any longer to spread the news to our friends. I am 9 weeks along and the due date is April 1st 2008. We had our first OB visit today and I was lucky to have Miguel join me. We even had an ultrasound which showed the baby, the heart beating, we got to hear the heart at 174 bpm, the baby did a little wiggle for us (which was crazy cause I can't feel a thing), and I am measuring right along at 8 weeks 6 days. It truely is unbelievable and we are so very excited. We have been wishing to start our family for a long time now and are blessed that this is the becoming our reality.

So far I have been doing ok. Basically I am nauseous 24/7 but have not thrown up. Eating little meals tend to help so I feel like I am constantly looking for something to put in my mouth. No major cravings to report but I have wanted a lot of fruit and even asked my dad to bring home a watermelon one night. Last night I wanted something sweet but couldnt decide between the coconut cream pie or red velvet cake so Miguel encouraged me to just buy both. I think he might be enjoying the extras for his own sweet tooth!! The Dr. today said to limit sugary items so that might of been our first and last splurge!!!

We hope to keep everyone updated through this blog so check up on us often. Right now things are just getting exciting for us so I hope to have a lot to write about.
